Dollar Bin Finds for Making Valentines

Gift Idea: Baby Thank You Cards

Check out three card designs that you can make using embellishments found in the dollar bin.  With these bargains it's easy to pull together valentines using washi tape, baker's twine, and puffy heart embellishments.  I started with some basic kraft colored A2 size card bases and white paper trimmed down to 4" x 5.25" to create these simple cards.  Click through for the step-by-step tutorial links and learn how you can create them in a few minutes and with just a couple of supplies.

Gift idea for an expecting mom: set of baby thank you cards & envelopes

Say "I love you" with washi tape and this super simple card design.

I remember soon after becoming a mom that there was one thing I always seemed to run short on: thank you cards. (Well, those plus sleep and sanity but this article is about making cards, right?)  Fast forward a couple of years and throwing a baby shower for a dear friend who later told me how overwhelmed she was by everyone's generosity and willingness to give baby presents.  It's true: new babies bring out the shopping bug in people (whether it's a gift card, clothes, toys - you name it) and it's amazing how people like to give give give.

Paper Source is a stationery store that sells scalloped, flat cards in an A2 size and I had some leftover from a previous project in orange and chartreuse shades.  I also used some yellow cardstock to round out the set and created 24 flat note cards.
Using flat note cards makes pulling together a gift like this a little bit easier than possibly making folded cards yourself.  Check out craft and stationery stores for deals on bulk packages of folded cards if you need a larger quantity.  If you create them yourself it's also easier to make a mix of colors by using 8.5" x 11" size cardstock since you can cut four of them out of one sheet of paper.  What's nice about flat note cards is that the sender can also write on both sides.
